12th Annual Food and Wine Fair


We return with our highly anticipated annual Christmas Food and Wine fair on Thursday the 19th November, taking place at the Salthill Hotel, Galway from 6pm until 10pm. Now in its 12th year, the annual Food and Wine Christmas Fair promises to excite and please the palate, with over 40 world class food producers showcasing the best of Galway, Ireland’s and international foods. Once again, attendees can look forward to a delectable experience this year with a host of new artisan producers featuring on this year’s itinerary.

Each year, the Christmas Food and Wine Fair raises much needed funds for a chosen charity of our choice, and this year we will donate to the truly deserving ACT For Meningitis, as well as a number of local Galway school funds.

Over 40 exhibitors promise to pique your palate, with their delicious offerings of artisan foods and craft beverages. The event will include 5 wine merchants, Teelings and Bushmills Whiskey Distillery’s and Craft Beer from Galway’s home produced Galway Hooker, allowing you to pair your festive treats with the finest of drinks.

We have carefully selected some of Ireland’s best independent food producers, all of which are making a substantial contribution to Ireland’s food revolution. Each exhibitor guarantees a mouthwatering experience, promising the highest quality and best taste guaranteed to create a lasting impression. Fans of the annual Christmas food fair will be delighted to see the return of annual favourites including The Friendly Farmer, Kylemore Abbey, Pandora Bell, Ponaire Coffee, Sicilian Fine Foods, O’Conaill Chocolates, The Real Olive  from Co Cork, Harvest Moon from Westport, Aran Islands Goats cheese, Kilbeggan Organic Porridge, Kylemore Acres, Kinvara Organic Smoked Salmon, Gran Gran’s sauces, Solaris Tea, America Village Apothecary and Inch House,

‘What’s For Pudding’, Royal County Puddings owned by the Flaherty Family, who pride themselves in producing the very best puddings with the highest quality ingredients free from artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

Bliss Bites Bakery of Galway, who specialise in offering deliciously innovative deserts which are designed to nourish the body, and ideally for the indulgent Christmas season, are guilt free! They create raw and baked treats which are free from dairy, egg and refined sugar. These treats are carefully crafted to banish the guilt we feel towards dessert, transforming it from a guilty pleasure into a healthy treat!

Mileeven Fine Foods, an award winning company run by Eilis Gough and her daughter Sarah offers an exciting range of high-quality organic honey, single source honeys like Manuka 10+ and Manuka 15+, Organic Preserves, Fruit Cakes, Christmas puddings, brandy butter and cranberry & port sauce that are stocked exclusively in some of the World’s most prestigious food halls including Harrods and Selfridges.

A number of live cookery demonstrations will take place in the Salthill Hotel’s Aran Suite and will offer the best tips on how to dazzle this Christmas season, giving you exclusive tips and tricks that will guarantee a spectacular Christmas lunch, dinner or cocktail over the festive period. These exciting demonstrations will include a Cocktail demonstration by our own Matt Cahill, off-licence manager.

Tickets are priced at €20 and can be purchased from ourselves, or participating schools Galway Educate Together, Scoil Iognaid, Coláiste Iognaid, Coláiste na Coiribe, Scoil Fhursa, Lakeview School, Briarhill NS, Dominican College Taylor’s Hill, Salerno Secondary School and  St. Joseph’s ‘The Bish’.
